A note from Dave Brown...
2009-10 was another amazing year for Hawk athletics as we finished our 3rd year in the West Valley. Oregon's best 3A league. God has truly blessed the Hawks as we have been competing up 2 divisions from what our enrollment would dictate.
We were very competative in all sports. We qualified for the state playoffs in Soccer, Baseball and Softball. Horizon won its first two State titles in Boys Basketball and Boys Track. It was also an outstanding year for many individual athlete's as well. For the third year in a row all of our Horizon teams qualified for the prestigious OSAA academic team awards given only to the best academic teams in Oregon.
We have also seen some exciting new things appear on the scene. We added a new sport last year, Volleyball which had a very successful 1st year. The Hawk campus facilities continue to grow. Generous supporters have helped us add football stadium lights last year. We will be expanding the field with new seating this year. The new baseball field is set to open for the 2010-11 season.
Most importantly we have seen our teams compete with great character. It is our purpose to compete to win but to do it in the right way. Good sportsmanship is a must for us and our athletes have shown this at all times. Our motto is a Champions Heart is a Christ-like Heart and we are living up to that calling on our lives.
