Conditioning

Scott Olson 427

Fitness Director Scott Olson led the conversion of an existing pole barn on our property into a first class fitness and workout center.

Horizon Sport teams enjoy the attention of an experienced, personal trainer.  Summer sport conditioning camps are also run on campus and available to all HCHS athletes.

Students have the advantage of using a high level training program, consisting of three levels that enable students to achieve many different fitness goals, and our athletes to train for speed, power, and durability.  The program is based on the knowledge that no two individuals are built the same.  Students receive personalized attention to help them attain levels of athleticism that traditionally only high priced personal training could achieve.  This is integrated into all aspects of fitness at Horizon.  From our P.E. classes to our high level weight training, all students will be able to train in a way that promotes a healthy, durable body.

Through a series of physical tests each student can be evaluated in all areas of performance.  The results of these tests allow Horizon's trainers to understand the positive and negative effects that an exercise may have on that individual.  With this knowledge students will receive customized training specific to their individual needs.

In addition, students will recieve the latest information of health and nutrition.  Diets will be provided for individual goals if students choose.  This is just one way that the trainers at Horizon encourage the students to take personal responsibility for their health.
